To Remove a Child Feature Type from a Parent Feature Type

The Remove Child command on the shortcut menu of the Feature Type Tree removes a selected child feature type from its parent feature type. If the feature type is not associated with any other parent feature type, this operation will also reinstate the feature type at the top level of the Feature Type Tree list. Otherwise, the child will simply be removed from the current parent.

  1. In the Feature Type Tree, expand the compound feature type containing the child feature type that you want to remove.
  2. Right-click the child feature type and then choose Remove Child from the shortcut menu.
